A whole planet to conquer, and everyone is on it.

PlanetX is a real-time strategy MMO on a spherical world. Buy land tile by tile, build a base, mine resources, then send electric tanks and aircraft across the horizon. Every planet is shared with other players, and the fight for it never pauses.

Free to play on Windows. Version 2 arrives in October.

How a game goes

Start with one tile. End with a continent, or lose it.

  1. Claim land

Buy the planet tile by tile. The coast, the mountains and the mines all belong to whoever gets there first.

  2. Build and mine

Put up factories, power and defences. Resources pay for the next tile and the next tank.

  3. Go to war

Send electric tanks and aircraft over the horizon. Your neighbours are real players, and they are doing the same.

PlanetX version 2: the Emperor's statue in a park, with a bank tower and an arsenal behind it

Version 2

October

Ten months of work. Most of it is new buildings that change how a round plays out.

Flag

Plant one and the land around it is visibly yours. Morale rises inside the aura, and your defence holds longer.

Bank

Loans, interest, repossession. Borrow when gold runs short, then pay it back before the interest starts running your economy for you.

Arsenal

Upgrades for units: a bigger battery, more power, a shield that cuts rocket damage. Leave a tank in there for a while and it comes out a different tank.

Park

Workers move faster inside the radius. At level two the land tax drops. The Emperor likes a nice park.

Command centre

For players who would rather not drive every tank themselves. It builds them, sends them to charge, upgrades them and runs the war inside its radius while you are away.

Also coming: new scenarios, private planets you open with a code, and menus that show what you actually need.

Films

Short films from the world of PlanetX

Made shot by shot with AI, then cut, scored and mixed like a film. The tanks and aircraft are the real unit designs from the game.

Free on Steam. See you on the planet.
